The Mariners spent 5 nights down in Vancouver, Washington at the Clark College Holiday Tournament.  The Mariners came home the tournament champions.  The tourney started with a convincing win over Seattle Community College.  The semi-final however, was a battle against a very athletic Chemeketa team, with the M's winning at the buzzer.  The final saw VIU taking on a very talented and long host team, the Clark College Penguins.  The Mariners were able to use a run part way through the second half to pull away and secure an 8 point victory in the final.

The trip also included a variety of other events.  The VIU squad took in a Division I game at the Universtiy of Portland, that went right down to the buzzer.  The following night the boys headed off to the semi-finals of the Les Schwab Invitational, a huge highschool tourney.  The tournament featured several big time prospects that have already committed to the likes of Kentucky and Georgetown.  Once again both games were nail-biters.  Finally, the last day the team spent the day in the beautiful city of Portland and finished the night off by taking in an NBA game.  Overall a great team trip on and off the floor for the Mariners.
