VIU Men win their final 2 home games of the season, defeating the visiting KPU Eagles by scores of 95-80 and 91-73 on the weekend.

Friday night the M's jumped out to a big lead, with the score 51-29 at the half.  The second half KPU played with much more energy and tried to climb there way back in, but came up short.  Every Mariner got at least 10 minutes of floor time and the scoring was pretty balanced. Andrew Kaban (on his senior night) led with 20, while Mike Wohlers had 17 and Patrick McCarty 16.  Jacob Thom was a couple rebounds away from a triple double with 11 points, 8 rebs, 10 assists, and 4 steals.  While Tyler Olsen also had a nice game with 9 and 10 boards.

Saturday the Eagles were flying and shot the ball very well. Defensively the M's struggled and gave up 44 in the half, but were still leading 50-44. The game remained close until the 4th when VIU locked down defensively and held the Eagles to 9.  The final score was 91-73.  Wohlers had a very nice game with 24 points to go along with 5 assists.  Kaban and Thom chipped in with 23 each as well.

Next up the M's is the final league game of the season, down in Victoria against Island rival Camosun...who are playing their best basketball of the season.
