Two more wins for the VIU womens basketball team this past weekend vs the Kwantlen Eagles.  On Friday, VIU came out firing taking a 29-10 lead at the end of the first quarter in route to a 78-44 win.  On Saturday, VIU struggled at the offensive end but managed a 57-32 win over kwantlen.  The two wins ensure VIU a bye in the first round of the provincial championships.

"I was very pleased with our defensive effort both game, but in particular on Saturday.  We struggled to score Saturday, missing several shots we would normally make and because of our defense, we still led at halftime."  "These two wins allowed us to reach the first two goals we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year, go unbeaten at home and get a bye at the provincial championships"
