British Columbia has won the Team Supremacy Award at the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) national badminton championship that was held on the Mount Allison University campus this past week. The award represents the conference that won that most matches over the week during the round robin play between six teams from across Canada (two BC teams, two Alberta teams, one Ontario squad, and a team from Atlantic Canada.)

The British Columbia team after five rounds of play finished with a 21-4 record, ahead of Alberta (ACAC) who won 17 matches and lost eight. The Ontario team (OCAA) was 15-10, while the BC Wild Card team was next with a 13-12 record. The Alberta Wild Card entry and Team Atlantic finished fifth (9-16) and sixth (0-25) respectively.

Brian Cassels and Jenny Aronson from the VIU Badminton team were members of the BC team. They competed in the mixed doubles event.
