Adam Tishenko Joins VIU

VIU Athletics is please to announce that Adam Tishenko will be joining the VIU Mariner Men's Volleyball team in the fall!!

Adam has played high school volleyball for the past 5 years @ W.L. Seaton competing in League, Zone, Valley and Provincial Championships.

With Adam setting, Sonics won several Zone and Valley Championships and placed well at Provincials every year.

In 2008, Seaton won Zones, Valleys, and won the B.C. Jr. Boys Volleyball Provincials; 110 straight sets without a loss for an undefeated season. In 2009, Seaton won Zones, placed 2nd at Valleys, and 5th at B.C. Boys Volleyball Provincials as an all Gr.11 team. In 2010, Seaton won Zones, Valleys, and won the B.C. Boys AA Volleyball Provincials. Seaton defeated every AA and AAA teams in the province.

Adam has played Club Volleyball for the past 5 years.

Ø  In 2009, Vernon Venom placed 3rd at Nationals in Tier 2. In 2010,

Ø  Venom placed 2nd at B.C. U-18 Provincials as an all 17 year old team.

Ø  In 2008, Adam played on the silver medalists Team in the BC Summer Games.

Ø  In 2009, Adam played on the U-16 Team BC at the Western Canada Championships.

Ø  In 2010, Adam played on the U17 Team BC at the Western Canada Championships.

Ø  In 2010 high school season, Adam was Tournament MVP in 4 of the 5 tournaments played in regular season. He was MVP at the UBC-O, Penn High, TRU, George Elliot tournaments and All Star at the KSS Best of the West tournament.

Adam is a 6’2” left handed setter

“I am excited to play on the Mariner’s volleyball team this fall, where I can continue to improve as a setter. I’m looking forward to this new challenge and working with the VIU coaching staff.”
