After playing five seasons with the VIU Mariners, graduating forward Andrew Kaban has recently signed a professional contract to play basketball this year overseas in beautiful Copenhagen, Denmark.
Andrew will be heading over this week in order to get settled and start training for the upcoming season with the Division 1 club, Virum Vipers.  Virum is located in a beautiful part of Denmark and the club has been around since 1957.

Head Coach, Tony Bryce for the VIU Mariners could not be happier for his former standout player.  "Andrew is extremely deserving of everything that has come his way.  Andrew is the hardest working and most committed player I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have spent more hours in the gym with Banger than any other player in my entire coaching career. I believe Andrew will do very well overseas and it is a fantastic opportunity for him to travel and enjoy life. This is not an easy task (to sign a pro contract) as teams are only allowed two international players on their roster. As part of the deal, Andrew will also be training some of the younger players coming up in the club which will be a great experience as well, as he also has a passion for the coaching aspect of the game.  I am very proud of Andrew and all he has done for our program and am very excited to follow his success overseas."
