Milo  worked hard to earn a starting spot on the team during  pre-season training in Korea with Sungkyunkwan (SKK) University. During his stay, he played against many professional volleyball teams such as the Samsung Blue Fangs and after only one week of actual volleyball training following fire season. (He spend the entire summer fighting wildfires in the bush. Were sent to Slave Lake, Fort MacMurray, and Pickle Lake (Ontario) just this summer.) The dedication and mental strength of the Korean teams really resonated with him. Living in Vancouver and representing UBC athletics was no doubt life-altering.

My teammates at UBC were great, and the coaches (including our former head coach Chris Densmore) prepared us well for the season. Unfortunately, as a team we fell short of our goals. Luckily, I've got one more chance... and I will do everything that I can to help my team at VIU achieve our goals. Comments Milo
