VIU women's soccer game vs Capilano

Final: VIU - 3, Capilano - 0

VIU controlled most of the first half but found themselves down 1-0 at half, Jolene Nagy twice found herself alone in from of the Cap net but Blues keeper denied her both times, VIU keeper Shelby Walker made a great save to keep the Mariners within a goal.

Emma Johannson a halftime sub scored twice to give VIU the lead, Caity Genereaux scored the third for the Mariners to put it away, Johannson almost got a hat trick goal but was denied by Cap keeper on a breakaway.

"We started real well and got caught on the counter attack on their first goal,  we stayed focused and it was a matter of time before we scored, Emma has improved everyday during pre season, real happy to see her get the two goals, Shelby kept us in game with a great save, good win for us against a team who's in our conference, we have two big games coming up next weekend against Douglas and Kwantlen, we're excited but at the same time we know we need to play 90 minutes at a high level to have success"
