Men's Basketball defeat Chargers

November 27th, 2011

The VIU men's basketball defeated the Camosun Chargers 96-80, this was Camosun's first loss of the season.

Senior guard Jacob Thom was simply brilliant on Saturday night in VIU's 96-80 win over Island rival Camosun College.

The 6'2" point guard out of Prince Rupert simply controlled the game from beginning to end for his Mariners.  Jacob finished with a game high 25 points, but in typical fashion got his teammates involved dishing out 7 assists.  Thom was a factor all over the floor, grabbing 7 rebounds and added 4 steals.  The All-Canadian was simply brilliant in helping his team improve their record to 4-1, and will have to be at his best once again as VIU makes the long haul up to Prince George to play a very talented UNBC team this coming Friday night.
