UBCO would open the scoring midway through the second half but the Mariners would continue to press forward and with 15 minutes left were finally rewarded for their dominance. Rachel Jones scored on a header from a Sam Rodgers cross, the last 15 would be a midfield battle with neither team getting any quality scoring chances.

"We were focused right from the start today, UBCO is one of the top teams in our conference and the girls really stepped up their game, we played a real strong defensive game and attacked in numbers"

For the second straight game VIU came out strong and dominated the first place TRU Wolfpack but it was visitors against the run of play who would get on the scoresheet first. TRU's  freekick,  taken outside the box deflected off a VIU defender and onto the head of a Wolfpack player who slotted it home behind the diving Shelby Walker. Mariners would press hard and should have been rewarded for their effort as they had chance after chance to tie the match, the best chance came off a VIU corner kick when there was a scramble in front of the TRU net and the Wolfpack players three times would clear it off the goal line.  Jessie Weninger on a breakaway was also stopped by the keeper and the rebound went just wide of the post, VIU would have 10 corner kicks in the first half.

TRU 1, VIU 0

VIU would continue their dominant play to start the second half and again against the run of play TRU would score from a long range shot to make it 2-0, Mariners pressed to get back in the game but the Wolfpack held on.

"We played one heck of a game today, we had them on their heels for long periods and really we could have been up by 2 or 3 at the half .  I don't know how the ball stayed out at times , give them credit because TRU is a very good team, both goals they got were fortunate bounces for them, they have some tall players who are dangerous on set plays but I thought Sam Rodgers, Jess Burma and Joanna Geck did a real good job, with the way we've played the last three games I don't know how we didn't come away with any wins, we've been the dominant team in all three, we're still in this thing, next weekend we have two big games against Cap, they need the points as badly as we do, we know it's going to be two tough games and we need to bring our A game"
