Provincial Champs recruit more talent

VIU Women's Basketball is pleased to announce the commitments of Amanda Tapia, Alexa Richardson, Taelar Keir and Mariah VanSickle for the 2013-14 season.

Amanda Tapia is a 5'5 guard from Whatcom Community College out of Bellingham, Washington.  This past year Amanda scored 10 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists(3rd in the league) in leading her team to a 11-3 league record.  "Amanda will provide us with another solid ballhandler and perimeter shooter, she rarely turns the ball over and can knock in open perimeter shots" 

Alexa Richardson is a 5'9 guard/forward who spent last season at Trinity International(NAIA).  "Alexa will provide versatility and depth to our team and allow us to play a few different lineups"

Mariah VanSickle is a 5'10 guard/forward from Island Champion Wellington who also finished 3rd in British Columbia.  "Mariah is very athletic and versatile, she will be able to play a number of positions for us"

Taelar Keir is a 5'11 forward from Island Champion Wellington who also finished 3rd in British Columbia.  "Taelar has a good skill set and great hands, she will be able to play inside and out for us" 

"All 4 of these girls are going to be the building blocks of our program, they all have a very bright future at VIU"
