Tylar Turnbull
VIU Mariners
Women’s Volleyball

This past weekend the VIU Mariners took on the UFV Cascades. The game was dictated all weekend by the Mariner middle offence. Tylar Turnbull (Port Coquitlam, BC) 4th-year middle, led the team offensively and provided the squad with some solid net play, leading the team in total blocks for the weekend as well. Tylar has been having a great year so far and carried on her strong play this weekend. On Friday Tylar led the Mariners with 11 kills and 5 blocks. On Saturday, Tylar pitched in with 9 kills (second on her team), 5 blocks and 3 aces helping the team to a 3-1 victory. The total weekend stats for Tylar were 20 kills, 10 blocks, and 6 aces. For a middle in the women’s conference, these are exceptional stats. Tylar consistently leads the team in kills and blocks and has been a key to helping the Mariners bounce back from a tough start.
