March 22nd, 2015

VIU women's basketball team received the Fair  Play award at the 2015 CCAA women's basketball national championships.

Ending the season with a win, the M's finished  where they were seeded by knocking off the Mount Allison Mounties for 7th place on Saturday. Lead by Jenna Carver in her final game for VIU, the Mariners controlled the game, but it did become close at times.

It would be Carver’s 22 points and 29 rebounds that would be the ultimate undoing of the Mounties. Maddyson McDonald picked up her 2nd player of the game nod while Carver received her 2nd of the tournament as well.
