Katie Rodgers was excellent, Rachel Jones, Kaylee Dodds and Moira Brown dominated the middle of the pitch for us, Maddy Dawson is such a skilled player, we asked her to play right back today instead of her midfield position and she was fantastic" Katie Rodgers was player of the game for VIU.

Sunday September 13 @ Capilano

VIU - 0, Capilano - 1

Capilano Blues scored in the 4th minute on some miscommunication by the Mariners, that seemed to wake up the Mariners as they completely took over the match, with scoring chance after scoring chance for the next 85 minutes of the match. Zoe Grace twice headed the ball and both times it was cleared off the line. Jessica Burma was all alone in front and facing an open net, her shot was tipped over by a diving Blues defender. Second half would be more of the same with majority of the play being played in the Capilano third of the field, Blues would hang on for the 1-0 win. "We had so many quality chances to score today and we put them under a lot of pressure, it was one of those days, again our young players played excellent as we were without Bronte Fitzsimmons, Carli Rey, Darby Cronan, Savannah Jensen and Jill Kelly, there's a lot of quality there, we're hoping all will be available for selection next weekend" Jessica Burma was player of the game for VIU.
