VIU men capture Bronze
For the second straight season the VIU Mariners have claimed bronze at the volleyball Provincial championships with a three set sweep of the COTR Avalanche.

The Mariners played outstanding defence knowing the Avalanche were without their best player Patrik Toze who was sidelined with a lower body injury.  The Mariners collected 14 blocks frustrating the Avalanche. They would win 25-16, 27-25 and 25-21.

Zach Grigg was named the Player of the Match with 12 kills.  Jesse Bazergui, the PACWEST Player of the Year also had 12 kills and fittingly ended the match and his career with a kill

The Avalanche played a gritty match without their star player. Zach Fedechko was named the Player of the Match.

Women's settle for silver
A stunning upset in the provincial finals .... as the College of the Rockies seeded sixth in the tournament , trailed VIU 2-0 in games, came back to win in 5.
