Both teams open the second half of the season following the holiday break and will see each other for the second time this year.  The Mariners took down the Kermodes by 11 at Quest on Remembrance Day.  Mariners’ guard Usama Zaid had himself a game dropping a Conference high 49 points on 19 of 37 shooting and collected 12 rebounds making it one of the best performances in PACWEST history.

Despite the game by Zaid, the Kermodes held a three point lead heading into the final frame, but defensively they allowed 26 fourth quarter points and lost.  Dallas Searles led the home side with 19 points.

This game could come down to defence and who can stop the other team’s offence consistently.  The Mariners are allowing 74.4 points a game, while the Kermodes are allowing an average of a full point more than what they are scoring.
