VIU thanks Anup Kang for his service as VIU Women’s Soccer Head Coach.

Anup led the VIU women’s soccer program for seven seasons, winning two PACWEST titles and appearing at the CCAA National Championships twice. He was recognized as PACWEST Coach of the Year in 2016, and back in 2014 received the Nanaimo Sports achievement “High Performance Coach of the Year” award.

His overall record was 43 wins, 13 ties and 36 losses.

Coach Kang encouraged athletes to be the best they could be, on and off the field. Over the past 3 years, 35 VIU women’s soccer players achieved academic excellence and recently the top overall academic student-athlete at VIU has come from the women’s soccer program.

Anup is retiring from the Mariners to focus on family and new endeavours. We would like to recognize Anup for the work he has done and share our appreciation for his commitment to the women’s soccer program.

Everyone at VIU Athletics wishes Anup the best as he moves forward.
