Wyatt runner up at Canadian Univ/College

June 3rd, 2018

Wyatt almost won the 2018 Canadian Univ./Golf Championships, but almost didn't compete in the event.

Wyatt had wrote the event off and was rather disappointed, but at the last minute (Friday morning) the phone rang and he received the invite to play.

The event got started on Monday with a practice round for Wyatt at 6:50am followed by some putting, things appeared to be clicking.
He teed off at 8:20am in round 1 and hardly missed a shot, was probably one of the best tournament rounds he had ever played shooting 68
Round 2, had an afternoon tee off. Wyatt struggled with his putting but still managed to grind out an even par 72.
Round 3, had a slow start 3 over through 5 holes and Wyatt thought his tournament was over. He later found his swing and recovered, coming in with a 73, 1 over.
Round 4, Wyatt got the start he needed and went 3 under through 5 holes and was trying to make a move, a couple bogeys got in the way which set him back. Still 1 under for the day after 10 holes he finished birdie, eagle on the last 2 holes of the tournament to jump from a top 10 finish to a silver medal.

Next up for Wyatt - BC men’s amateur in July at Rivershore Golf Links where Wyatt had played all of his high school golf, then hopefully will be at the Canadian Amateur at Duncan Meadows in August.
