Mariners men's volleyball start the season with a split at CBC
ABBOTSFORD - The Mariners picked up two points on the road to start the 2025-26 season from a win and a loss at Columbia Bible College.

It was a dynamite start for the Mariners after winning the first set by ten points and staying steady throughout the rest of the match. Carter Munro had an excellent night at the net, tallying a team-high 10 kills and 3 blocks. Owen Dyck and Kieran Paauwe also collected three blocks for the Mariners.
Saturday, October 18: CBC 3, VIU 2
27-25, 16-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-8
The Bearcats turned the table on the Mariners in Saturday's rematch. The hosts took sets one, four, and five to earn the weekend split.
VIU outside hitter (and former Bearcat) Jake Stobbe had an outstanding match. He led the Mariners with 12 kills and added 3 blocks and 8 digs. Munro added another 11 kills to his weekend total to go along with 3 aces.

The Mariners (1-1) open up the home portion of the regular season with a rematch of last season's PACWEST bronze matchup with the Camosun Chargers (1-1). These Island Rivalry matches take place at the VIU Gym on Friday, October 24 at 8 pm and Saturday, October 25 at 3 pm.
