Head-To-Head in 2024-25
VIU lost their first two games of the season at COTR, falling 3-0 and 3-2. The Avalanche would hold the CCAA's #1-ranking for much of the season until their road trip to VIU in late Janauary when they dropped consecutive 3-2 marathons to the Mariners. COTR would go on to win PACWEST silver and CCAA bronze.
Watch Out Now
COTR: Dylan Annala averaged 3.71 kills per set over the first two COTR matches and is high up the conference leaderboard in total offense. Last year's conference player of the year, Diego Policarpo, is also back with the Avalanche.
VIU: Phillip Treitel, VIU's men's volleyball player of the week after two excellent performances against Camosun, is also high up the conference stat table in kills and total offense. Middle Rowan MacPherson is averaging nearly a block and a half per set -- good for tops in the conference.
