Weekend Preview: Taking on the Bearcats
VIU heads to CBC for their first matchup since the 2025 PACWEST championship
Two 2-0 teams will collide in Abbotsford this weekend as the reigning PACWEST champion Mariners meet the reigning CCAA champion Bearcats.
The Mariners are back on the road after two large wins over the Okanagan Coyotes while the Bearcats swept a home-and-home set against the Langara Falcons to start the season.

CBC: CCAA tournament MVP Elissa Vreugdenhil is back with the Bearcats and leads the conference in rebounds. Point guard Kagari Tomita sits second in the conference with 18.5 points per game.
VIU: Point guard Mackenzie Cox was named VIU's women's basketball athlete of the week after two solid performances against Okanagan College. Cox, Kiayra Hohlweg, and Aysia Kumar are all shooting over 60% from the field.
