VIU Soccer Athletes of the Week - September 7-8
Jade Dillabough and Kenneth Jolliffe show off speed to burn
Congratulations to Jade Dillabough and Kenneth Jolliffe: VIU soccer Athletes of the Week for September 7-8!
Jade, a third-year forward, was a constant threat on goal in two wins over Langara to open up the season. Jade scored her first goal of the season on Saturday—an incredible display of footwork as she weaved between two defenders before sliding a shot past the Falcons goalkeeper. She also provided assists on both VIU goals on Sunday with expert deliveries from the left wing, showing that her confidence is sky-high as the 2024 season commences.

"Jade showed incredible individual skills," head coach Bobbie Taylor said, "but was also super consistent over the weekend."
Kenneth's speed and pace stood out in an opening weekend split with the Langara Falcons. A starter in both games, he was a constant threat on the forward lines as an attacker and relentless in working to win back possession. A brilliant fake-shot no-look assist on VIU's winning goal in his PACWEST debut demonstrated Kenneth's poise and quality.

"Kenneth worked tirelessly over two games," Mariners head coach Kevin Lindo said. "He's worked hard to get here and is a great kid to have in the group. We're excited about his future."
