2025 Soccer Schedule
The Mariners will start the season at home and add a new Nanaimo pitch in this year's schedule
NANAIMO - Local soccer fans won't have to wait long to catch this year's squads on home pitch.
The Mariners women's and men's soccer teams kick off the first weekend of the 2025 PACWEST regular season at home with September 6 and 7 games against the Douglas Royals at Q'unq'inuqwstuxw Stadium.
VIU will play its first games at the new Harewood Centennial Park on September 20 and 21 as the Capilano Blues come to Nanaimo. The home portion of the schedule concludes with games against Langara at Harewood Centennial on October 4 and Q'unq'inuqwstuxw Stadium on Soccer Alumni Day, October 5.
VIU season at a glance
- Twelve games: six at home and six on the road
- Four games against each PACWEST opponent: Douglas Royals, Capilano Blues, and Langara Falcons. Matchups are evenly split between road and home games
- In Nanaimo, VIU plays three games at Q'unq'inuqwstuxw Stadium and three games at Harewood Centennial Park (Sherry Fields)
- All home game days feature a women's match at 12:30 pm followed by a men's match at 3 pm
- Admission is free
- All games are livestreamed by SportsCanada.tv through YouTube. Home games are on the VIU Mariners Athletics YouTube page

The top three women's teams and the top three men's teams advance to the 2025 PACWEST Soccer Championships, hosted by Capilano University on October 25 and 26.
Conference champions will advance to the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association's national championships, November 5-8. The women's championship is hosted by Red Deer Polytechnic (Red Deer, AB) and the men's tournament is hosted by Champlain College Saint-Lambert (Saint-Lambert, QC).
