COQUITLAM, BC - The Mariners and Royals came into their third matchup of the season looking to take care of the nitty-gritty. Instead, what was produced was the nilly-nilly.
VIU had plenty of pressure throughout but the Royals held firm and the teams played to a 0-0 tie. This result, combined with another nil-nil draw between Capilano and Langara, clinched a PACWEST playoff spot for the Mariners with four games remaining.
Goalkeeper Kaiden Thorpe started her second consecutive game and earned her fifth shutout of the season.
