CCAA bronze and PACWEST gold medallists are ready for a new season
The defending PACWEST champion Mariners look to get a new season rolling with road games at Columbia Bible College against the CBC Bearcats.

Head-To-Head in 2024-25
The Mariners swept the Bearcats in all five matches they played last season, including the PACWEST semifinals.

CBC: The Bearcats feature the PACWEST top middle in Kiana Wiebe and reigning rookie of the year, Makayla Friesen.
VIU: PACWEST second-team all-star Grace Brisebois will have a big part in VIU's offensive schemes while conference top libero Jordy Exner will anchor the defense.
Fresh Faced First Years
The Mariners have a strong contingent of first-year student-athletes on the team, including setters Elisabeth Sim (North Vancouver, BC) and Addison Purcell (Winnipeg, MB). Also new to varsity volleyball: libero Shay Postema (Nanaimo, BC) and middle blocker Sara Hughes (Port Coquitlam, BC),
Transfers
- Brooklyn Parliament (Summerland, BC) joins VIU after playing four seasons with York University (U Sports)
- Kadence Bolen (Saskatoon, SK) transfered from a strong Providence Pilots program in the MCAC
- Maddie Smith (Edmonton, AB) bolsters VIU's depth in the middle
Fifth Years
Brisebois, Parliament, and Regan Ingram all go into their fifth seasons as important pieces of the VIU lineup.
