Mariners don't drop a set in two season opening wins at Columbia Bible College
ABBOTSFORD - You can't start a volleyball season much better than that as VIU women's volleyball opened up the 2025-26 campaign with two 3-0 wins on the road at Columbia Bible College.

Grace Brisebois stood out for the Mariners in their season opening win over CBC as she tallied 15 kills on 22 attempts. Alannah Wright earned 3 aces while Brisebois and Grace Greene added two of their own. Wright and Regan Ingram were credited with 4 blocks.

Saturday's rematch started out as a nail-biter before the Mariners kicked into high gear in the second set and earned the victory.
Alannah Wright continued her strong play at the service line with five aces. Shay Postema led the defensive effort with 9 digs while nine Mariners earned kills, led by Regan Ingram and Grace Brisebois with 7 apiece.

The Mariners (2-0) play Island Rivalry home opening matches against the Camosun Chargers (1-1) at the VIU Gym on Friday, October 24 at 6 pm and Saturday, October 25 at 1 pm.
