Conference-leading Mariners host the Avalanche in a rare Thursday-Friday matchup
NANAIMO - Most seasons, Cranbrook's College of the Rockies Avalanche get their Vancouver Island games out of the way during one Thursday-to-Sunday road trip. This year's four day stretch starts with two matches at VIU against a Mariners squad that has started the season with a 4-0 record.

- Thursday, October 30 at the VIU Gym, 6 pm
- Friday, October 31 at the VIU Gym, 6 pm (costumes encouraged!)

Head-To-Head in 2024-25
The Mariners won all four matchups with the Avalanche last season, including three 3-0 sweeps. However, their first game of the season was a 3-2 nailbiter with the Mariners taking the last set 17-15.
Watch Out Now
COTR: Outside hitter Eloise Newsome leads the Avalanche in kills, blocks, and total offense. Sloane Brodner is at the top of the conference leaderboard in aces with 10.
VIU: Regan Ingram was named VIU women's volleyball athlete of the week. The outside hitter from Calgary is among the lead leaders in kills and total offense. Middles Alannah Wright and Grace Greene have had very strong starts to the season at the net and at the service line.
