Mariners kick off 2026 with Island Rivalry games at Camosun
NANAIMO - Now that the holidays are over, the PACWEST starts back up in January wiith an Island Rivalry matchup as VIU visits the Camosun College Chargers.

- VIU Mariners (8-2, second in the PACWEST, CCAA ranked #5) vs Camosun Chargers (4-6, tied for third in the PACWEST)
- Friday, January 9 at the Pacific Institute for Sport Education (P.I.S.E.), Langford, 6 pm
- Saturday, January 10 at P.I.S.E., 1 pm

Head-To-Head
VIU earned a pair of 3-0 wins at home over the Chargers in October: 25-19, 25-18, 25-16 and 25-22, 25-17, 25-20.
Watch Out Now
Camosun: Outside hitter Erica Bolink is having another season that will put her in the conference MVP category. She sits first in conference aces, first in total offense, second in kills per set, and third in digs.
VIU: Outside hitters Grace Brisebois and Regan Ingram are both in the conference top 12 in kills, total offense, aces, and blocks. Libero Jordy Exner leads the PACWEST with 3.63 digs per set--the only player above 3 digs per set.
Spring Additions
The Mariners welcomed two additions to the roster for the spring semester: Maggie Wood, a Nanaimo outside hitter who was on the roster last season, and Edan Wade, a fifth-year setter and transfer from the University of Alberta (U Sports).
