Weekend Preview: Tall Task Awaits

NANAIMO - Over the past decade, it's been typical to see VIU at the top of the PACWEST women's volleyball standings. This year, an experienced Capilano team holds the top spot and brings an undefeated record to VIU to face the Mariners.

Head-To-Head

The Mariners started strong but dropped both matches at Capilano in November, 3-1 (18-25, 25-13, 25-15, 25-17) and 3-2 (20-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-20, 15-10).

So far in 2026, the Mariners have earned a split at Camosun while Capilano earned two wins over Douglas.

Watch Out Now

Capilano: Outside hitters Abi Betker and Nnya Mbaoma have had all-star calibre seasons and lead the conference in kills and are second and third in total offence. Natalie Rourke leads the PACWEST in blocks per set.

VIU: Alannah Wright leads the conference with 0.83 aces per set. Outside hitters Grace Brisebois and Regan Ingram are fifth and sixth in conference kills per set while libero Jordy Exner leads in PACWEST digs.
