NANAIMO - With a two point lead on the Douglas Royals for the final playoff spot, the Mariners know they could use some points in the final weekend to sew up that spot --- but the visiting Capilano Blues stand in their way.

When & Where

  • Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20 at Q'unq'inuqwstuxw Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on both days.
  • Saturday's game is presented by Nanaimo Mitsubishi. Sunday's game is presented by Junk In Our Trunk.

Head-To-Head

The Mariners and Blues faced off twice in North Vancouver in September. Capilano took a 2-1 win in the first meeting, but VIU rebounded for a 3-0 shutout in the rematch.

Capilano's Sebastian Cirotto leads the conference in scoring with 7 goals in 9 games. VIU's Charlie Smith is the second-leading scorer in the PACWEST with 4.

Graduating Player Celebration

At the conclusion of the women's game (approximately 2:30 p.m.), graduating student-athletes from both teams will be recognized: Tori Hauptman, Saki Meshida, Asuka Okabe, and Taylor Kinley from the women's squad and Grayson Chalifoux, Michael Heppelle, and Matthew Coburn from the men's team.
